freightquote.com, the leading provider of online business-to-business freight and logistics services, announced today it has renewed and extended its agreement with eBay to market and provide freight services for its customers who need to move heavy items. Under the agreement, freightquote.com will feature online freight tools as a benefit to buyers and sellers using the eBay marketplace to auction or purchase goods over 150 pounds. CEO of freightquote.com, Tim Barton explains, "freightquote.com customized its systems with eBay users in mind. Our tools allow eBay users to leverage the joint purchasing power of both freightquote and eBay to gain access to aggressive carrier pricing. The tools even allow eBay Power Sellers to integrate their own carrier-contract pricing into our online freight calculator." eBay users can set up freight shipments without leaving the eBay site and can allow their buyers to get a precise freight cost before bidding on items. "The tools help to demystify the shipping process which can be cumbersome and time-consuming," added Barton. "We have further simplified our freight tools by walking users through the freight process in bite-sized pieces."
eBay customer, Vending World, typically auctions vending machines that cost between $400 and $2,000 each. Because of the size and weight of the machines, freight costs can be as much as 50% of the cost of a vending machine. In the past, potential customers typically emailed the company requesting a quote. "It is usually necessary to rate at least three carriers to ensure the best price," explained Randy Ajax, President of Vending World. "I began to spend more time obtaining quotes for freight than any other part of my job. Now that customers can get their own quotes direct from my auction page, the number of auctions I can run has zoomed from 10 per month to 100 per month."
"Shipping merchandise is an essential piece of every eBay transaction," said Gary Dillabough, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. "freightquote.com's customized shipping tools allow eBay sellers to manage the shipping process of items over 150 lbs. from their own desktops in a speedy and economical method."
