LTL advantages:
- Lower cost than parcel carriers
– If you’re typically sending larger shipments with your carrier like UPS or FedEx Ground, you may find a lower cost by using one of our LTL common carriers.
- Wide range of service and pricing options
– If you need your shipment expedited or if you need the assurance of a money-back guarantee, LTL offers those options. Or if you have odd shaped or odd sized shipments, our carriers have the ability to meet your shipping needs.
- Lots of ancillary and special services available
– For example, our LTL carriers have optional liftgate service if your shipment is delivering to a home or other location without a dock.
Advantages of air freight shipping:
- Fastest transit times
– When you need your shipment there yesterday, shipping by air is typically your best option.
- Minimized damages
– With a smoother ride than ground freight, and without multiple loading and unloading events, air freight shipping can reduce the chances for damage.
Advantages of truckload shipping:
- Lower cost
– A truckload shipment will typically result in a lower cost per pound than shipping by other modes, for larger shipments.
- Shortened delivery times
– Depending on distance, a truckload may be one to three days faster than an LTL shipment.
- Minimized damages
– With no other freight on the truck, and without multiple loading and unloading events, TL shipping can reduce the chances for damage.
Advantages of intermodal service:
- Cost savings
– Intermodal service can save up to 30% compared to standard truckload freight rates.
- Fully coordinated door-to-door service
– even though an intermodal shipment ultimately moves with multiple freight carriers over multiple modes, Freightquote.com coordinates all the activity and combines it in one simple invoice.
