Freight dimensions
The dimensions of your freight shipment is one of the most important factor in determining freight rates. Dimensions are rounded to the nearest inch. Inaccurate freight dimensions can be costly, especially for oversized items. Be sure to measure twice to be safe!
Get an accurate weight
Accurate weights are very important for freight rates. If you don't have an
accurate shipping scale, you can usually use a bathroom scale for items under 400
pounds. Several retailers sell larger scales for heavier items. Be sure to
include packaging weight such as pallets, boxes or crates.
Oversized items
Based on trucking companies' space in the truck, oversized items may be subject to a higher rate. Enter dimensions in the length, width, and height fields, Freightquote will
automatically calculate whether your package is subject to these rates. We also
offer custom quote options for non standard shipments.
Very large or heavy shipments
If you are shipping very large or heavy freight that may require additional services, call Freightquote to book your shipment to ensure the best rate. We offer freight rates for any shipment over 100 lbs.
Packaging tips
